From Self-Doubt to $4 That Changed Everything
A high school friend of mine mentioned something called "transcription." I had no idea what it meant. I nodded along and pretended I understood, then rushed home to Google it.
I tried to figure it out alone. No mentor. No guide. Just me, a slow internet connection, and a lot of frustration.
Here's the honest truth about my early days:
- I guessed how the work was supposed to be done — and failed at first
- I doubted myself constantly. "Maybe I'm not smart enough for this."
- I nearly quit three times before I completed my first task
- I genuinely didn't believe someone from Africa could earn real dollars online
And then it happened.
$4. Four American dollars. Deposited directly into my account.
It sounds small. But for a campus student in Africa who'd never earned anything online, it was the loudest proof in the world that this was real.
That $4 didn't just pay for lunch. It bought me something more valuable — belief. Belief that I could do this. That ordinary Africans could do this. That the internet wasn't just for people abroad.
Today, I don't just earn from transcription. I teach it. I've guided over 1,200 people through their first tasks, their first earnings, their first milestone moments. And I want to do the same for you.
